Virginia Marion Dudley

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Virginia Marion Dudley (née Pollock) on September 14, 2025, in Vancouver, BC, at the age of 71.

Virginia was born in Dublin, Ireland, to parents Ethel and Tony Pollock. She moved with her family to Vancouver, Canada, in 1957, at the age of three. Virginia attended St. Augustine’s Elementary school and Little Flower Academy for her high school years. She went on to earn her BFA and teaching degree from the University of British Columbia. Virginia dedicated her career to teaching, spending many years as an elementary school teacher in Vancouver. She was most passionate about teaching her students at Lord Selkirk, where she inspired generations of students with her wisdom, care, warmth and dedication.

Virginia leaves her twin sons Ciaran (Mito) and Sean (Nancy) to whom she was a devoted and loving mother, and a proud granny to grandsons Theo, Kye, and Aidan. She is survived by her brother David, sisters Margie, Bernie (Geoff), and Carol; sister-in-law Barrie; her nieces Clare (Alex), Gemma (Matt), and Kyla, and her nephews Matthew (Amy), Jonathan (Naomi), Neal, and Brendan (Elizabeth); her ex-husband Jhan; and her many caring and devoted friends. She is reunited in heaven with her parents and her brother, Derek.

Known for her radiant spirit, Virginia was a gifted teacher, an avid reader, a lover of nature, and a dancer at heart. She was a beacon of divine light and healing grace to all who knew her. The joy she brought to her family, friends, and students is irreplaceable and unforgettable.

Virginia’s last years were spent at Casa Mia. The family is grateful for the amazing care given to Virginia by the team there who supported her.

A funeral service and reception will be held for family and close friends to honour and celebrate Virginia’s life.
