Warren Daniel Frederiksen

With love and sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Warren D. Frederiksen on January 12, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born in Fernie B.C. on September 15, 1939, Warren was the devoted son of Betty and Johnny Frederiksen. He is survived by his daughters Christine Barbeau, and Margaret Simmons (Aaron), and his sons Daniel (Wendy) and David (Ronda). He is also survived by his dear sister Karen Zarchinsky and will be missed by his six grandchildren (Jared, Brittany, Destiny, Gabriel, Jacob and Bella) three great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Warren worked as a corrections officer at Oakalla Prison in Burnaby B.C. A long career that took its toll. He lived a quiet, humble life and found peace and comfort in his Catholic faith regularly attending church. Warren enjoyed simple pleasures like listening to the ‘Golden Oldies’ in his rocking chair, watching classic TV shows, and enjoying a game of cribbage with a beer at the Legion.

The Funeral Mass will be held on January 21, at 11:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 555 Slocan St., Vancouver B.C. Final resting place will be at the Gardens of Gethsemani Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
