A Gentleman's Gentleman!
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne May—a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and a gentleman in every sense of the word. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rosalie, sons Damian and Michael, Daughter-in-law Nicole, Grandchildren Abbey Rose and Maddix Johnny, and a vast circle of family and friends.
Wayne lived a life defined by honor, loyalty, duty, and integrity. They were not simply values he admired, but principles he lived every day. He belonged to a generation for whom being a gentleman was among life's highest virtues, and he embodied those qualities with quiet confidence, humility, kindness, and unwavering respect for others.
Wayne dedicated his professional life to serving his country through a distinguished career of 35 years with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Beginning as a young constable in Stephenville, Newfoundland, he rose through the ranks to become an Inspector in Ottawa, and Superintendent in Vancouver, where his responsibilities ultimately included protecting the highest levels of government. While his career was one of remarkable accomplishment, he wore his achievements with characteristic modesty.
Those fortunate enough to know Wayne will remember far more than his accomplishments. They will remember his smiling eyes, his quick wit, and the wonderfully cheeky humor that was never far from the surface. He had a rare gift for making others feel comfortable, welcomed, and valued, leaving every conversation just a little brighter than he found it.
Wayne embraced his Catholic faith wholeheartedly and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. His faith quietly shaped the way he lived—with compassion, generosity, humility, and service to others.
His passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Wayne - you will be deeply missed and forever remembered!
