William Bill (Billy) Gilder

Billy passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2025, at his home in East Vancouver at the age of 74. 

He is predeceased by stepmother Lillian, father Bill, sister-in-law Gay, great-nephew Jesse, and mother Margaret. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Mistique, cousin Shannon, nieces Chantal and Kristin, great-niece Sonia, great-nephew Elijiah, great great-nieces Aubriella, Audrianna, Aleyah, and great great-nephews Joziah and Makiah. 

Billy was an avid golfer, a lover of the outdoors, and loved ballroom dancing. He worked his whole life for the City of Vancouver Waterworks Division until he retired in 2016. Billy battled his own demons in life and has been clean and sober for 22 years, attending AA frequently. He had an amazing heart and was friendly with everyone he encountered. 

Celebration of Life will held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:00 am at Kearney Burnaby Chapel 4715 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC V5C 2K8. Celebrant Rev. Wendy Yacboski.
