Wouterus Johannes Michel Kuit

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Wouterus Johannes Michel Kuit, known to family and friends as Walter, on August 19, 2026, in New Westminster, British Columbia, at the age of 83.

Walter was born on July 14, 1943, in Cranbrook, BC. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science from Notre Dame University in Nelson, BC, beginning a long and rewarding career in the mining industry.

His career began in Castlegar before taking him to Trail and eventually to Vancouver, where he continued to build a respected career and ultimately retired as a Project Manager. Walter enjoyed his work and took pride in being helpful to others. He was well liked and respected by many throughout his professional career, as well as by those who knew him personally.

Walter will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Dawn, and their son, Aaron. His kindness, helpful nature, and the many relationships he built throughout his life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
