With great sadness we say farewell to Didi, properly Zdzislawa Chorazy who departed from us on Jan. 18th, 2026.
She was born on Feb. 26th 1932 in Lwow, Poland, the oldest of three children. Hers was the time of WWII as a young teen and a great migration that took place after. She married very young and shortly had two boys, followed by a divorce. Few years later she married again and had a daughter. With determination in spite of having three children and a job she completed her university degree in education. Her great organizational skills and personal charisma was put to good use as a high school bursary director for many years. She also taught fine arts for some time.
Her great artistic talents produced many oil on canvas paintings as well as other works in different artistic media.
After her retirement Didi landed in Vancouver Canada in 1991 to join all her three children. Widowed in 2001 she lived independently maintaining a close circle of Polish lady friends.
Didi was always a person of deep Catholic faith with disciplined daily prayer life and great devotion to the Holy Mother Mary. She was independent and strong, never giving up on life. She loved her family very much and always looked forward to their visits while she finally got to a full care retirement facility.
At times picky and stubborn, Didi was always thinking about her family welfare. She had five grandchildren and was a great grandmother of five.
She is survived by her younger brother Andrzej in Poland, by her sons Jerzy and Wojtek and her daughter Mira.
Now, no more pain, no more wheelchair, Didi will sign her hymns to God forever.
Till we meet again.
